A little about me...
.
I am Kaitlin Delahaut, a Junior Early Childhood Major at St. Norbert College. I am from Green Bay, WI where I attended Green Bay Preble High School. There I lived with my family: of my mom, my dad, my older brother, my twin brother, my three younger brothers, and my younger sister. In my free time, I keep very busy. I play for the St. Norbert Volleyball team.I also coached volleyball to a group of 15-year-old girls.
My education at St. Norbert has opened my eyes to the various learning needs of students. Each student has there own need to learning and it is very important to address these needs in teaching. One of the most important things to address would be culturally relevant practices in the classroom. If I student cannot relate to the material being addressed, he or she will feel disconnected. It is crucial to the make sure each student can see him or herself in the curriculum.
This website will take you through my experience of learning about the importance of using a multicultural approach when teaching early childhood education, as well as information about people and events from various cultures in both the United States and around the world.
